English and Literacy Portal Insight

Introducing Michael Walsh

Our English and literacy portal manager is Michael Walsh, a highly experienced classroom practitioner. He is also a senior member of the Cambridge Education secondary team and works with King’s College London developing Cognitive Acceleration for Key Stages 2 and 3.

Chief amongst our portal resources are the videos which focus on how different resources might be best applied to enhance teaching and learning. We tend to have a weekly theme and so far there have been tips for media, speaking and listening, reading as well as poetry.

We also have a number of Teach Shares coming up covering topics such as cognitive acceleration and using film to develop writing. It promises to be exciting!
