Support your staff's career development while improving teaching throughout your school

Vital offers staff development that reflects the real CPD needs of IT teachers, teachers using ICT across the curriculum and teaching support staff. Vital will empower individual educators to take ownership of their professional development through a range of courses developed by the Open University and by providing unlimited access to a community of fellow practitioners.

Vital courses will be wholly, or predominantly on line, and recognise the need for a form of CPD that is accessible and puts educators firmly in control. All Vital courses are firmly based in the practitioner research cycle, linking directly into reflective practice within an individual’s own school.

As well as developing specific skills and increasing the confidence of teachers using ICT in the classroom, Vital aims to ultimately provide a route into the Open University’s MA in education.

Vital will also provide a central location to search for the existing provision of ICT CPD across your region. At the same time it will signpost teaching staff to the best resources and knowledge that are available nationally.
