Introduction
This course explores how to use wikis to support collaborative learning projects in Secondary schools. It is a basic introduction to wikis. If you would like to understand more about wikis, and how to add images, upload video and other media, our Learning together: developing wikis course will be more suitable.
Outline
The course will cover:
• using existing wikis and creating new ones
• how they can be used in collaborative class projects
• why learners may not want to use them
• codes of conduct for using wikis.
Outcomes
After completing the course, you’ll know how to:
• create a wiki or make use of one already available at your school
• spot opportunities to use wikis to encourage learners to contribute to projects
• set ground rules for safe, responsible use of wikis.
