Introduction

Starting with the basic principles of blogs and blogging, this Secondary course looks at their use within education and how they can be applied to improve teaching and learning.

Outline

The course will cover:
• what blogs are, how you should use them and key copyright and e-safety issues
• blogs within education
• ideas on how to use blogs with pupils
• setting up a classroom blog and assessing how it is used
• how using blogs can help towards achieving TDA standards.

Outcomes

After completing the course, you’ll know how to:
• set up a blog, publish your own content and enable others to comment on it
• select the appropriate blog tool to use
• incorporate text and other media on a blog page
• identify how blogs can support curriculum-based activities and projects.
