Making games, motivating learners KS2
Primary children love playing games in the classroom – they are a fabulous way for them to learn whilst also having fun. Nowadays, with advances in ICT and interactivity in classrooms, the possibilities for using computer-based games are endless. But how do we ensure that the games we use are appropriate for the curriculum? And how do we create games that are both effective for, and relevant to, our learners?
On this primary course, you will identify opportunities to use games that are linked to the KS2 curriculum and will evaluate how successful the games are in supporting and motivating your learners. By making use of the 2DIY resources and ActionScript programming language, you and your learners will create a range of simple games, such as puzzles, quizzes, sequencing and cloze passages, which will not only stimulate and encourage, but will also meet the lesson objectives of the KS2.
