Kinect™, Kindles™, Know How and Learning Impact!
Introduction
Throughout 2011 Vital and Naace worked together to help schools engage with 3rd millennium learning development. This took the form of afternoon and twilight regional sessions with Bernadette Brooks of Naace, Steve Bunce and Duncan Garbett of Vital and local schools who are reaping the benefits of inspired use of technology.
This case study describes the content of the sessions and provides links to the resources used, for the benefit of those unable to attend the live events.

Background information
In the autumn term Naace engaged with schools to talk about 3rd Millennium Learning, focused on celebrating schools' achievements in creating an environment and curriculum that will stimulate more and better learning, presented in ways that will inform and inspire parents.
From September2011, Vital introduced the subject and special interest area portals in the following areas: Primary ICT (delivered by Naace members), Secondary IT, E-safety, English and Literacy, Maths and Numeracy, Science, Geography and Modern Foreign Languages (other subject areas to follow).
Delegates at these events were some of the first to have direct access to these new programmes from Naace and Vital affording great opportunities to learn about the benefits and influence their future direction. Attendees were able to review the Vital Portals at these meetings and receive free access for five school staff.
All programmes offer schools an extremely cost-effective way to deliver school-based Professional Development. The focus was very much upon the impact both the Vital Professional programme and ICT can have upon the quality of learning and teaching.
In addition schools may be invited to share their experiences and celebrate their impact in learning on Saturday 10 March - the final day of the Naace Strategic Conference 2012 - as well as in the resources area on the Vital website.
Schools presented feedback from test-bed programmes using Kindles and Kinects in class, including details on how they are being used, what the impact upon learning is and so much more. Those that attended the events learned how they can engage, enabling them, their school and their pupils to benefit from enhanced learning opportunities in the new academic year.
