What is Vital?
Vital started out in July 2009 as a government-funded project to enhance 'ICT teaching' in state-funded 5-19 education in England. Vital's remit covered ICT, IT and Computer Science as specialist subjects, as well as the use of digital technology across the curriculum. The Open University (OU) developed Vital until the end of March 2013, when Jisc Advance took over the Vital brand and website.
What is Jisc Advance?
Part of the Jisc family, Jisc Advance is a not-for-profit organisation financed by the UK funding councils for further and higher education offering impartial advice and guidance across the post-16 sector. Jisc Advance comprises eight specialist technology services based across the UK.
