A Vital Professional has a number of key roles and with support from Vital, is an advocate for effective formal and informal staff development. We provide them with a structured process for planning and implementing professional development for colleagues, linked specifically to your school's needs.

They are supported in their role by a range of short Open University quality modules, from which they can select two that meet their own professional development requirements. They also receive training in working collaboratively online through video conferencing.
The Vital Professional role may operate at several levels of staff seniority, but perhaps the best fit is for individuals at a middle-management level, who would like to develop their expertise in supporting colleagues. This might be a head of department, subject leader, or advanced skills teacher.
